What Wellness Means to Me

Discover what wellness really means—from balance and confidence to connection and care. A thoughtful reflection from the Sanctuary team.

At Sanctuary, wellness is more than treatments, products, or routines. It’s something deeply personal, and it looks a little different for every woman who walks through our doors and every woman who works behind them.

For some of us, wellness means creating a calm, welcoming space where others can finally slow down. It’s the quiet moments between appointments, the gentle music, and knowing that even an hour of peace can make a real difference in someone’s day.

For others, wellness is balance. It’s learning how to care for others while also setting boundaries, listening to our bodies, and giving ourselves permission to rest. It’s understanding that being strong doesn’t mean doing everything all the time, and that asking for help is part of self-care.

Wellness can also mean confidence. Feeling comfortable in your own skin, trusting your skills, and knowing your work has purpose. It’s the pride that comes from helping someone feel more relaxed, more refreshed, or more like themselves again.

For many of us, wellness is connection. The relationships we build with our guests, our teammates, and our community. It’s women supporting women, sharing stories, laughter, and sometimes even quiet understanding on the busiest days.

And sometimes, wellness is found in the small rituals. A few deep breaths before the day begins. A skincare routine that feels grounding. A moment of stillness between appointments. These little pauses remind us to be present, even when life feels full.

At Sanctuary, wellness isn’t about perfection. It’s about care, intention, and compassion. For ourselves, for each other, and for every guest who trusts us with their time.

This March, as we celebrate women and International Women’s Day, we’re proud to honour the many ways wellness shows up in the lives of the incredible women who make Sanctuary what it is.

Because wellness isn’t one thing. It’s personal. And it starts within.
