Something to celebrate

We are celebrating our 25th anniversary this month, and we’re all kind of proud about it.

I read the other day that only about 26% of small businesses in the services sector in Canada survive the first 18 years. This month we’ll be celebrating our 25th anniversary, and we’re all kind of proud about it. This milestone is especially sweet considering that we survived a pandemic.

Unlike less “tactile” businesses, we didn’t have the option of working from home. During the many lockdowns, it seemed like we were always the first to get cut and the last to reopen. And we were challenged to continually raise the bar (and the industry standard) on creating a clean and safe spa environment. At a time when PPE was a foreign acronym to most of us, I never heard a complaint from staff about coming into work.

It’s a cliché to say, but it’s because of our people that Sanctuary is what it is today. Our service providers, guest services team, management, marketing team and administrative staff are the reason we’ve been able to live up to our commitment to provide our guests with the best possible spa experience.

Some of our staff have been with us from the very beginning, and are now taking younger colleagues under their wings, passing down a wealth of knowledge you can’t get in a classroom. It’s really nice to see.

I’m happy to report that we’re back to pre-pandemic revenue numbers. But we know that a rise in the cost of living will make some people think twice about visiting the spa. All the more reason we can’t stop innovating. In addition to always rethinking the spa experience to make it better, we’ve doubled down on incentives to ensure we can continue to be here for our guests.

Looking ahead, we’re working on a few exciting projects that I’m super excited about. While it’s premature to offer specifics, I will say that the future looks incredibly bright for Sanctuary!

It’s also comforting to know that we’re in an industry where human connection will always be valued, and artificial intelligence isn’t likely to change our core business. In fact, in a world that is moving and changing at a dizzying pace, people come to Sanctuary to disconnect from it all and slow things down.

We sincerely appreciate your support over the last 25 years. As a thank you, we’re taking 25% off the price of our retail products and $25 off our Signature Treatments. Please enjoy – and join in the celebration!
